Ru ware 介紹

Ru ware, or "Ru official ware," is a remarkable and extremely rare type of Chinese pottery produced during the Song dynasty, specifically around 1100 AD. This exquisite form of pottery was originally made for the imperial court, making it a symbol of elegance and refinement in Chinese art. What makes Ru ware so unique is the limited quantity of surviving pieces—fewer than 100 complete items are still known to exist today.

The characteristic features of Ru ware include a beautiful "duck-egg" blue glaze that has often been described as resembling "the blue of the sky in a clearing amongst the clouds after rain." This distinctive color, along with variations that sometimes reach into a soft celadon green, sets Ru ware apart from other forms of pottery produced during the same period.
